Ratigan's big night propels Ephrata volleyball past Othello

OTHELLO - Senior Britney Ratigan had 22 kills and 20 digs as the visiting Ephrata Tigers pulled out a five-game win over Central Washington Athletic Conference rival Othello on Thursday night.
The Tigers received several key efforts in their 25-17, 15-25, 25-19, 15-25, 15-9 triumph. Senior Breane Duff dished out 17 assists, with junior Darcee Fales adding 10 kills. Brianna Moser added six kills and three blocks, and Lexi Lange chipped in eight digs and 11 assists.
Allison Walker had a tremendous outing for the Huskies, compiling 23 kills and 25 digs. Justine Villareal had 24 assists for Othello, and Kylee Mollotte added 10 kills.
Ephrata returns to the court next Thursday when it plays host to Ellensburg at 7 p.m. Othello travels to Ellensburg next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
River View 3, Warden 0
WARDEN - Becky Flores led the Panthers with 18 kills, 11 digs and six blocks Thursday night as they earned a 25-15, 25-17, 25-10 victory over the Cougars in a South Central Athletic Conference match.
Warden's Kelsey Garner had a team-high six kills to go along with a 7 for 7 serving effort and one ace. Cassandra Kisler served 11 for 11 and had four assists. Amanda Martin (five assists), Katherine Martin (seven digs), Emma Bisnett (two kills, two blocks) and Brandi Kisler (two blocks) were also cited by Cougars head coach Jeff Kottong for their strong play.
Lisa Carlyle distributed 27 assists for River View, with Chani Brisby adding 10 kills and Lexie Hess finishing with four aces and two blocks.
Warden (0-3 overall, 0-2 SCAC) plays again Saturday, traveling to Quincy for an 11 a.m. non-league match.
Connell 3, Royal 0
ROYAL CITY - In three hard-fought games, the Connell Eagles fought off the Royal Knights in a battle of SCAC foes Thursday night.
Connell was victorious by scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 26-24. Julie Hawkins had a match-high 16 kills for the Eagles and added two blocks. Connell's Kortneight Eppich had 10 kills and six digs, while Eva Grassi added 10 kills and two blocks.
Stephanie Bartlett led Royal with 10 kills. Other strong efforts for the Knights came from Janae Anderson (two kills, 18 assists), Olivia Christensen (six kills, three blocks), Tracy Iverson (two kills, five blocks), and Amber Christensen (four kills, five assists, one block).
Royal, which dropped to 1-1 in SCAC play, hosts Naches Valley on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
