Adult rec classes start soon in Ephrata

EPHRATA - The City of Ephrata is offering three different adult recreation activities to community members throughout the month of October.

Pickup basketball games at Ephrata High School's old gym will begin on Oct. 3 and run every Wednesday and Sunday through Oct. 28. The cost is $10 and each session will run from 7-10 p.m. Fees must be paid before participation.

An adult co-ed 4 on 4 volleyball league will take place each Sunday from Oct. 28 through Dec. 2. The games will be at EHS's Marty O'Brien Court from 4-8 p.m. The cost is $60 for a team of six, with at least one person of the opposite gender required on the court at all times. Teams are also required to provide two referees during their scheduled matches.

The registration deadline for volleyball is Oct. 25. A mandatory meeting for all players takes place Oct. 28, one hour before all games begin.

Aquasize, a water aerobics class designed for high-impact or low-impact work, begins Oct. 2 and runs every Tuesday and Thursday until Oct. 30. All sessions will take place at the Best Western Rama Inn, and the cost is $25.
