COLUMBIA BASIN - Local resident Courtney Turner-Rathbone, the daughter of Denise Turner and Doug Rathbone, was named the Washington State Quarter Horse Association's 2007 All-Around Walk/Trot champion on Oct. 25.

Turner-Rathbone and her American Quarter Horse Association-approved Palomino mare Win Me Cash earned 525 state points during events from March through September. The pair also won the WSQHA's showmanship and hunt seat equitation divisions.

Turner-Rathbone is in her second year of showing on the AQHA's circuit and getting to know her new AQHA horse, Dynamics Dark Amber, in hopes of repeating her 2007 success. Win Me Cash was recently sold to an Arkansas family, who will show the mare at next year's Palomino World Championships.
