Property taxes due Oct. 31

| October 17, 2007 9:00 PM

MOSES LAKE - Grant County Treasurer Darryl Pheasant is reminding taxpayers of the approaching deadline for real, personal property and mobile home taxes.

The due date for the second half of taxes is Oct. 31.

"Ninety-percent will pay just half (first) and pay the other half in October," Pheasant stated.

Late accounts are charged 12 percent interest per year, he said. If taxes are not paid by Nov. 30, an 8 percent penalty is charged on the delinquent account.

"Please send the bottom right coupon on your statement if you are paying by mail for proper crediting," he stated. "If you have more than one statement, you may make one check for the total taxes, and please remember to sign your check."

Those who do not need a receipt can drop their payment off in a drop box at the treasurer's office, according to Pheasant.

The Grant County Treasurer's Office is located at the Grant County Courthouse, 35 C Street NW in Ephrata.
