Doris Lilly Kiichle

Doris Lilly Kiichle, 82, of Othello, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at the Avalon Care Center.

Doris was born on Oct. 31, 1924, in Nottingham, England to Percy and Agnes (Colvin) Haywood. She was a war bride and came to the United States with her husband Karl, in 1945. They settled in St. Helens, Ore. Then in 1947 they moved to Waitsburg where Karl worked in the flour mill. In 1955 they moved to Othello to farm.

Doris was an avid card player, especially pinochle. She had a green thumb and grew flowers and vegetables, much of which was shared with friends and neighbors. She enjoyed camping and fishing, especially at Coconully, Wash. She had gone camping and fishing at Coconully this last Labor Day. Doris was a member of the Othello Church of the Nazarene, the Red Hat club, and the Retreads club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters. She is survived by her sons; Karl (Trish) Kiichle of Kennewick and Michael (Mary) Kiichle of Chandler, Ariz.; her daughter Betty (Roy) Love of Othello, 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at the Othello Church of the Nazarene, at 11 a.m., a time for final visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.

Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Chapel, Othello, Wash.
