Don Rudger (Rud) Kirkman

Don Rudger (Rud) Kirkman, 61, of Moses Lake passed away Sept. 30, 2007.

Don was born February 4, 1946, in Susanville, Calif., to Emily V. and Don Kirkman. He served his country in the Army National Guard and received an honorable discharge. Don married Kimalee Stephens in Elko, Nev., on July 1, 1978. They had just celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary.

Don played drums and trumpet professionally before settling into a welding career. He loved "Big Band" music. He was an avid sports fan with NASCAR being his favorite. Don built and raced his own AMC spirit in mini-stock class. Sadly, he was unable to finish this current car.

Don is survived by his wife Kimalee of Moses Lake; three sons, Steven, Robert, and Todd; three daughters, Jan (Kirkman)-Burrows, Holly (Kirkman) Libby, and Kimalee Kirkman-Delacruz; sister, Connie (David) Kirkman-Bauer; numerous grandchildren and niece and nephews. He is remembered with love by his in-laws and extended family, The Stephens.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kent (Shelia) Kirkman; granddaughter, Angel; and nephew, Dwaine Kultgen Sr.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nelson Road Chapel, 1849 East Nelson Rd. in Moses Lake. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory. Donations will be accepted at Key Bank for the Kirkman Family.
