Accounts set for funerals, survivors of fire
Duplex offered to survivors
MOSES LAKE - The people of Moses Lake are giving their support to the two survivors and the victims of a fatal house fire.
Saturday morning a house fire, on Moon Drive in Moses Lake, took three lives and left two survivors.
Sarah M. Villarreal, 25, and her one-year-old son Lukas Villarreal survived with Sarah sustaining inhalation injuries requiring hospitalization. Lukas was released to family on Sunday.
Her husband, Daniel Villarreal, 28, died attempting to save two children, Dante Beltran, 7, and Natalie Beltran, 5. All three perished in the fire.
Since the fire, the public has sought ways to help comfort the families.
A memorial of stuffed animals, pictures, candles and cards was erected in front of the house by friends and neighbors.
David Plate, president of Harmony Homes West and a member of the Moses Lake Planning Commission, said they are offering Sarah and Lukas Villarreal the use of a duplex apartment free of rent to get back on their feet.
Two accounts were created to help accept monetary donations for the funerals of the deceased children and the survivors.
An account was created at Washington Mutual in the name of Jimmy Beltran, the father of Dante and Natalie, according to organizer Angela Throneberry. Money donated is slated for use in paying for the children's funerals, which is estimated at $9,000. People wishing to donate can contact any Washington Mutual bank and deposit it under the father's name or account number 8842600872.
An account for survivors Sarah and Lukas is also at Washington Mutual. Money can be can be deposited into the bank using the account number 8842599356 or in the name of Sarah and Lukas Villarreal, according to organizer Jason Throneberry.
Throneberry has a son with Sarah Villarreal. Their son was not at the home during the fire. Jason is married to Angela.
Both have said people are seeking ways to donate furniture and clothing to Sarah and Lukas. Hall's Self Storage donated a storage unit for donated items. All donations must be delivered with Angela Throneberry present. She said she can unlock the unit.
