Sex offender released from jail on accident
Man abused Moses Lake child
EPHRATA - A Grant County Jail inmate was accidentally released last week and law enforcement is looking for him.
Ramon Murillo-Flores, 28, was released due to a paperwork error between Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the jail, according to Grant County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy John Turley said. ICE accidentally sent a release notice to the jail.
"By the time they knew of the error, he was gone," he said.
It takes about two to three hours to release an inmate from the jail and return his personal belongings.
In August Murillo-Flores pleaded guilty to one count of child rape in the first degree, one count of molestation in the first degree and incest, according to the Grant County Courthouse Clerk's Office. He was sentenced to 20 months in prison and 36 to 48 months of community custody Sept. 11.
Murillo-Flores's victim is an elementary student in Moses Lake, according to the Moses Lake Police Department. The mother of the victim was notified to create a plan to safely transport the child to and from school.
Murillo is described as being a Hispanic male, standing five foot, three inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, brown eyes, medium complexion, goatee and two tattoos on his left arm of a unicorn and a heart, and a skull with glasses, according to the Moses Lake Police.
Citizens are advised to call 9-1-1 if they see Murillo-Flores, Turley said.
