Elks Lodge holding hoops contest

MOSES LAKE - Boys and girls ages 8-13 are invited to take part in the 34th annual Moses Lake Elks Lodge Hoop Shot contest.

The competition takes place this Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Chief Moses Middle School gymnasium, 1111 E. Nelson Rd. Boys and girls will be broken up into three ages groups - 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. Each contestant shoots 25 free throws, broken into sets of 10-10-5.

Contestants must be 8 years old or not 14 as of April 1, 2008, and have a parent or guardian sign them in. Winners of the lodge event move on to district competition on Jan. 5, 2008, with opportunities to advance to state, regional and national events.
