Adams County election remains close

ADAMS COUNTY - Most candidates leading elections in Adams County Tuesday night continue to lead Wednesday afternoon.

The Adams County Auditor's Office released an update Wednesday afternoon. Ballots will continue to be counted and results are final Nov. 27.

Fire Protection District No. five commissioner No. two candidate Richard Johnson took the lead in votes away from Wilbur Trescott by obtaining 352 votes. Trescott maintains 330 votes.

The Othello City Council may see new faces next term with all three challengers holding a lead in votes over the incumbents.

Ken Johnson obtained 469 votes for Othello City Council position No. five. Incumbent Everett Cole has 315 votes.

Challenger Mark Snyder has 536 votes for Othello City Council position No. six. Incumbent Dale Wyman gained 253 votes.

Othello City Council position seven candidate DeWitt Dever has 411 votes. Incumbent Kathy Carlton holds 373 votes.

Othello Public Hospital District No. three incumbent William (Bill) Briggs leads with 956 votes. Candidate Israel Rodriguez obtained 591 votes.

The Othello School District will welcome two new people to the school board.

Candidate Robert Simmons leads candidate Guy Graber with 1,041 votes. Graber obtained 429 votes.

School board candidate Donald Kirkwood obtained 769 votes and candidate Eric Askren has 649 votes.

Port of Othello candidate Terry Thompson maintains a strong lead over Ricardo Garza with 912 votes. Garza has 512 votes.
