Vikings go 3-3 at Spokane tournament

SPOKANE - The Big Bend Community College volleyball team split its six-game session at Friday's and Saturday's Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges crossover tournament.

The final crossover event of the year saw Big Bend open with a 30-22, 30-20, 30-22 win over Everett on Friday. The Lady Vikings also lost in three games to Bellevue on Friday, falling 31-29, 30-15, 30-28.

On Saturday, Big Bend earned a 30-22, 30-27, 30-26 win over Olympic. The Vikings lost back-to-back decisions to Bellevue (30-25, 30-28) and Spokane (30-8, 30-24, 30-22), but finished up with a 30-26, 30-13 win over Everett. No statistics were available. The Vikings improved their overall record to 11-26.

Big Bend finishes its season on Wednesday at East Division rival Blue Mountain, a 6 p.m. start. The teams are tied with 2-11 records at the bottom of the division.

Columbia Basin, Walla Walla, Spokane and Treasure Valley have already clinched the division's four berths to the NWAACC championships, which begin Nov. 15 at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Ore.
