Lucrecia R. Mendez, 77, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007, at her home. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Alejandro Trejo as celebrant. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Park, Soap Lake. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, May 31, from noon until 6 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Beloved mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and friend, left this world to be with her father in Heaven May 26, 2007. Lucrecia was a woman of great faith, her love and dedication to God were seen in her endless giving. She lovingly served her family and God with compassion and sacrifice.

She was born in Col. Juarez, Nuevo Casas Grandes. Chih., Mexico, June 29, 1929. She married Francisco Mendez Nov. 22, 1949. She is preceded in death by father Panfilo Rodr'guez, mother Maria Mu-oz, husband Francisco Mendez, son Javier Francisco Mendez , daughter Amanda Gonzales, sister Juanita Diaz, brother Abraham Rodr'guez, brother Jose Rodr'guez.

Longtime resident of Moses Lake for 49 years, she moved here with her family in 1958 where her husband was employed by local farmer John Gauntt. Lucrecia, a dedicated mother always and a housewife until she went to work for Pronto Foods in 1965 until 1968, then Sun Spiced until 1975. In 1977, she became a devoted employee of Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church as housekeeper and cook for the Fathers until her retirement in 2000.

Lucrecia is survived by daughter Rosa Blancas and her husband Alberto of Moses Lake, son Javier Mendez and his wife Nora from Maple Valley, Virginia Walker and her husband Charlie, of Moses Lake, Idalia M. Apodaca and her husband Steve from Spokane, Frank Mendez Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Moses Lake, Juan Mendez of Moses Lake, nieces, nephews in Mexico, New Mexico, California, Utah, and Colorado, 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
