Daniel 'Dan' Karl Jeske

Daniel "Dan" Karl Jeske, 80, lifelong resident of Warden and Moses Lake, went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, May 27, 2007, following a 17 year battle with cancer.

Graveside committal services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 31, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 31, at the Warden Assembly of God Church with Pastor John Harper officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Dan was born April 1, 1927, in Warden, son of the late Edward and Magdalena (Schilke) Jeske. He was raised on the family farm just south of town, where he lived and farmed most of his life. He went to school in Warden, graduating from Warden High School in 1945. Following high school he continued to work on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955. He returned to Warden and was married to Dollie Bartol in Warden on Feb. 3, 1957. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, which was a source of great pride for Dan. A couple of years ago, after living and farming in Warden for 78 years, Dan and Dollie moved into Moses Lake where they have lived since.

He enjoyed wood working and working as the custodian for the Warden School District for several years. He was a member of the Warden Community Church and later of the Warden Assembly of God Church and a past member of the Gideons International.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Dollie of Moses Lake; four children and spouses, Debra Doran of Moses Lake and her fiance Danny DeBoer of Royal Slope, Don and Michelle Jeske, Moses Lake, Deanna "DeeDee" and Steve Reed, Warden, Dana and Julie Jeske, Royal City; two sisters and three brothers and spouses, Edwin and Margaret Jeske, Spokane, Leah Goehner, Spokane, Ernest and Joan Jeske, Ellensburg, Robert and Arlene Jeske, Kershaw, S.C., Janet and Emil Sackmann, Lind; 11 grandchildren, Karl, Hugh and Kristina Doran, Jeff, Philip and Kayla Reed and Britni, Jacob and Julisa Jeske, and Brian and Mark Wheatley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Roger Doran and two brothers-in-law, Will Goehner and Bud Bartol.
