Howard Eugene Kisler

Howard Eugene Kisler passed away May 11, 2007, at Yakima Memorial Hospital, Yakima, Wash. He was bom Sept.10, 1938, to Clarence and Erna Kisler at Ritzville.

He attended school at Warden and graduated from Warden High School in 1956. Howard married Ruby June Butler Nov. 16, 1957, and went into farming with his father and farmed until retiring. He also worked for the City of Warden in the maintenance department until 1994.

Howard married L. Loretta Burris in the Tri-Cities on July 1, 1972, and continued to live on the ranch at Warden. After retiring, Howard and Loretta spent the winters in Yuma, Ariz., where they met many friends and enjoyed crafts. Howard was known for his wood carving and burning. He also enjoyed gardening, especially raising big tomatoes and pumpkins in competition with family and friends. Howard was a friend to everyone he met.

Howard is preceded in death by his father, Clarence, and one daughter, Cheryl Lynch. Survivors include his wife, L. Loretta Kisler of Warden; his mother, Erna Kisler of Moses Lake; a son, Kenny (Dana) Kisler of Marysville; two daughters, Kay Camus of Olympia and Diane (Larry) Barajas of Zillah; a sister, Sylvia (Rod) Butler of Spokane; three brothers, Wesley (Sandra) Kisler of Othello, Dennis Kisler of Houston, Texas, Darrel (Patricia) Kisler of Warden; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may contribute to the American Cancer Society.

Graveside services will be Saturday May 19, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden.
