EPHRATA — Jennifer Lee and her Ephrata Tigers boys soccer team had a solid season, and Lee was recently rewarded for it.

Lee was named as the Central Washington Athletic Conference's Coach of the Year for 2007, leading the Tigers within one victory of a 2A state tournament appearance. The CWAC Most Valuable Player was East Valley-Yakima's Beau Morton. Grandview earned the team sportsmanship award.

Several local players dotted the list of CWAC first team, second team and honorable mention selections.

Quincy, which won the CWAC North Division title, placed three players on the first team — senior defender Rodolfo Diaz, senior forward Pedro Perez and junior goalkeeper Francisco Tafoya.

Second team selections included Ephrata senior defender Dan Martell, Ephrata junior forward Marcos Farias, Ephrata senior midfielder Humberto Mendoza, Ephrata senior midfielder Benjamin De La Rosa, and Othello senior midfielder Hector Alvares.

Ephrata's Rafael Moreno, Quincy's Alfredo Tafoya and Cristen Medina, and Othello's B.G. Guzman and Michael Morelos were all honorable mention choices.
