Chiefs play in All-Star game

WENATCHEE — Moses Lake High School seniors Quinn Baker and Marielle McKean represented the Chiefs during the Wenatchee Central Lions Club High School Basketball All Star game Saturday at Wenatchee High School.

Baker and McKean were chosen from amongst seniors in the Wenatchee Valley, Chelan County and Columbia Basin to compete.

The annual event is a recruitment opportunity for Wenatchee Valley Community College and began with a dinner and 3-point contest. Both girls and boys teams were formed after the 3-point shooting contest and were coached by the staff from Wenatchee Valley Community College.

At the conclusion of the girls game, McKean was awarded "Player of the Game" honors for her efforts. Baker was also awarded "Player of the Game" honors at the conclusion of the boys game. Along with the award, both players were given a $100 scholarship from the Central Lions Club to be used at the school of their choice.

McKean will apply her scholarship to North Idaho College where she will play for the women's basketball team. Baker's scholarship will be used at Big Bend Community College where he will play for the men's team.
