QUINCY — One company took home first, second and third place at the Battle of the Biz pool tournament Sunday in Quincy.

Central Bean Company employees took the top three ranks, followed by Columbia Colstor.

The tournament is part of a series of events where businesses duke it out in celebration of Quincy's centennial.

"Those guys have got nothing on us," joked Samual Gonzalez III. "Basically, there's nobody better."

Event Coordinator Russ Harrington said 13 teams showed up to compete, a good turnout considering the event took place on a Sunday morning.

Employees of Central Bean Company were full of lighthearted jest toward the other businesses.

"It just felt great destroying all the other teams," joked Fernando DeLaRosa.

DeLaRosa said in seriousness, the event provided a great opportunity to meet other members of the community.

The competition was done nine-ball style, in which teams must pocket the balls in numerical order. Harrington said he decided on the format to make the games go faster.

Gonzalez III said hitting the balls in order increased the challenge of the game.
