New site meets need for larger space

MOSES LAKE — Central Machinery Sales has a new center.

The company moved from its location on Wheeler Road to a new address at 1201 E. Yonezawa Blvd. earlier this week.

Owner Pamp Maiers, Sr. constructed a new 30,000 square-foot building, which serves as the business' new retail facility, neighboring his construction company location near Interstate 90.

"It's a more modern location, more room and better highway exposure," Maiers said of the new machinery sales site. There was need for a bigger facility, he added. The move has been in the works for over a year.

The business opened in the new facility Monday morning.

Central Machinery Sales employs 17 people, and General Manager Judy Wilson plans to increase by two to three people with the move.

"We have a larger, better-equipped service department and a larger parts inventory, to take care of the customer's parts and service needs," Wilson said. "As well as having a nice, large yard to display our new and used machinery."

The business sells agriculture and construction machinery.

Maiers purchased the company nine years ago, at which point it became Central Machinery Sales. The company also has a location in the Tri-Cities. The move does not affect the Tri-Cities location.

"I think when Pamp initially bought the business, he planned on doing this," Wilson said.

Prior to the move, Maiers said things were progressing well.

"We're on schedule," he said last week.

The company's soul objective is to provide better service to customers, Maiers said, with hopes of increasing sales.

The store retains its telephone number, Wilson said.
