| March 5, 2007 8:00 PM

Fern (Oman) Coulson, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007.

She was born in Price, Utah, on Feb. 18, 1916, to Earl and Mabel (Larsen) Oman. At the age of 12, her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she later met and married Chuck Larsen. From that union a daughter, Earlene was born. In 1941, she married Harry Coulson in Portland, Ore. From that union Lorraine and Ronald Coulson were born.

In 1948 the Coulson family moved to Hermiston, Ore., and six years later they relocated to Moses Lake. As a family they owned and operated the state park concessions and taco stand at the city park. Fern also worked for the Moses Lake School District in the cafeteria for 23 years. She enjoyed this position especially because it allowed her to be close to her children.

Shortly after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, Harry Coulson passed away in 1991. Fern and her daughter, Lorraine, moved to East Wenatchee in 1998 where they shared a home together until her passing.

Fern's family was the center of her world. She was a loving, kind, caring mother to her children and always welcomed her grandchildren with open arms and smiles. One of her greatest loves was her garden and roses in which she and her husband would tirelessly and meticulessly tend to. She believed in hard work and family values. Fern, also had a great love for her pets and a tendency to care for animals in need. She was a faithful, lifelong member of her church. Fern will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 9 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Earlene Ray; Lorraine Krueger and her son, Ron Coulson; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchilden and five great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Fern's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in East Wenatchee. Fern will be laid to rest next to her husband, Harry in Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 5.

Arrangements are under the care of Betts Funeral Service, Wenatchee.
