Moses Lake Babe Ruth team wins two

ELLENSBURG — Moses Lake's 13-and-under Babe Ruth baseball team swept its two opponents Thursday at the North Washington District 5/7 Championships.

In games at West Ellensburg Park, Moses Lake knocked off Central Basin 7-3 in its first game and held off a late rally from Eastmont in its nightcap, winning 11-10. The team plays again Friday at 3 p.m. against Wenatchee.

Moses Lake's 14-and-under team lost its only game of the day, a 9-3 setback to Ellensburg. The team takes on Wenatchee Friday at 3 p.m.

Moses Lake's 15-and-under team starts the tournament Friday, playing Okanogan Valley at 3 p.m. The two oldest brackets hold their championship games Sunday, with the 13-U championship Saturday.
