Golf events for cancer go well

| June 29, 2007 9:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Corinna Felker's Drive Fore Cancer recent golf events received fantastic community support.

The fourth annual event at The Links at Moses Pointe had 100 golfers participate with the winning team coming from Moses Lake. Everyone enjoyed the golf and dinner despite the blustery conditions.

The Youth Golf Day at Big Bend Golf and Country Club drew 60 young golfers from the area. The two events raised $3,950 for cancer research and $6,000 for patient care grants.

CFDFC goals are to provide funding to organizations that are active in cancer research; cancer related public education; and grants for cancer patients in the regional area.

The board of directors has allocated $4,000 to be used for four grants at this time with another round of grants in December.

Cancer patients can apply for grants if they live in Grant, Lincoln or adjacent counties. Call 509-639-2684 to request an application form. All applications must be returned by July 11 at 5 p.m.

The volunteer staff at CFDFC would like to thank all the surrounding communities for their corporate and individual support.
