Norma Elizabeth (Weis) Simmons

Norma Elizabeth (Weis) Simmons, age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Sandridge Home Care in Moses Lake. Norma was born April 7, 1925, in Ruff, Wash., to John and Katie (Oster) Weis.

She attended school in Ruff and Marlin, Wash. She married Richard L. Simmons in 1949 and gained two stepchildren, Jack and Penny. Norma and Richard had two more boys, Duane and Richard Simmons.

Norma is survived by her children Duane Simmons, Richard Simmons, both of Moses Lake, Terry Simmons of Shelton, Wash., Jack Simmons of Aberdeen, Wash., and Peggy Engel of Colorado; two brothers Bill (Lila) Weis and Arlie Weis; several grandchildren Jackie Score (Rick Hentz), Jeff Simmons (Wendy Fox), David and Jennifer Engel, Trecey and John Ring, Stacey and Colby Clasen and Miranda Simmons; 13 great-grandchildren and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by and now joins her loving husband Richard L. Simmons, her mother and father John and Katie Weis, brother Vern Weis and brother and sister-in-law Dan and Elsie Weis.

She will be missed very, very much. She will live forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Norma's life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 30, at Faith Community Church, 940 E. Nelson Rd., Moses Lake with Pastor Paul Riegel officiating.
