Dogs invited to Monday Pirates game

MOSES LAKE — Columbia Basin dogs can fetch booty Monday at the next Moses Lake Pirates game.
Back by popular demand, Bark in the Park was added to the Pirates lineup for the team's second year playing. The promotion is part of the 7:30 p.m. baseball game against the Spokane Riverhawks at the Larson Field in Moses Lake. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
"Last year we probably saw 40 plus (dogs)," Pirates owner Brent Kirwan said. "I mean, there was a lot."
Dogs are invited to participate in between-inning promotions, Kirwan said. Baseballs were scattered on the field last year and dogs won prizes, depending on which ball they picked up.
Bark in the Park was the most popular Pirates event and the public asked for it to return this year, he said.
Pets must be on a leash, Kirwan noted.
The cost for the game is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and children 12 and younger. Larson Field is located at 2500 W. Broadway.
