Delays in Ephrata

| June 21, 2007 9:00 PM

EPHRATA — The Airport Way intersection widening project in Ephrata is coming to an end.

Construction crews are grinding old paint stripes from the roadway to repaint new lines, North Central Region Communications Manager Jeff Adamson said.

Beginning Friday at 7:03 a.m., drivers can expect a five-minute wait on state Route 282, two miles from Ephrata. Delays end at 6:03 p.m. each day, he said.

The SR 282 widening was constructed to install better lighting and ease left turns.

The project is funded by the Port of Ephrata, Grant County and the Washington State Department of Transportation.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for June 29 at 11 a.m.
