Soap Lake baseball gets four all-leaguers, WIAA academic award

SOAP LAKE — The Soap Lake High School baseball team earned several honors following their recently completed spring season.

Four Eagles, all seniors, were named to the North Central Washington All-League team. Brad Hilzroth was a first team selection. Micah LaPlante and Chad Meiries were chosen for the second team and Blake Alexander received honorable mention status.

Soap Lake also received, for the first time, academic recognition from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. The Eagles had a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average for the year.

The team handed out individual awards at a recent ceremony. Hilzroth and LaPlante shared the team's Most Valuable Player award. Exchange student Louis Lee was the most improved player, Meiries received the coach's award and Alexander was named most inspirational player.
