Moses Lake students graduate
MOSES LAKE — More than 350 high school seniors and their families gathered Thursday to celebrate the completion of an era in their lives.
The students are Moses Lake High School's newest graduates, the class of 2007.
During the graduation ceremony, Moses Lake School District Superintendent Steve Chestnut introduced the class of 2007. Board members Allan Burritt and Lew Mason presented diplomas.
The top 10 graduates Becky Jones, Erica DeLeon, Amanda Hickman, Emily Fry, Amanda Hochstatter, Brin Bergeson, Martha Fry, Donald McGraw, Cameron Frederick and Breanne Kernan were applauded for excelling academically during their high school career by classmates, friends and family members.
Andrew Nielson not only graduated, but was a guest speaker. The senior said he is looking forward to seeing the class of 2007 again in ten years.
"Hopefully, you've fulfilled our potential and your dreams," Nielson said.
Senior Susan Krcma said it does not feel as though she is finished with high school.
"I haven't even cried yet," Krcma said. "It's probably going to hit me tomorrow morning."
After finishing one more quarter at Big Bend Community College, the Running Start student is headed to Washington State University. She said she is going to miss the people in Moses Lake.
"(I'll) miss giving my sister a ride to school everyday, and I'll miss my friends," said senior Morgan Yearout.
Senior Mike Wentworth said he is going to miss his friends and teachers.
"I'm not going to miss any of my classes," Wentworth said.
