Blue Wave washes over Soap Lake
Democrats help with cleanup project
SOAP LAKE — The Grant County Democrats conducted Blue Wave, a nationwide clean-up day, in Soap Lake Saturday.
Volunteers assisted the Soap Lake Improvement Crew at East Beach Park in transplanting Yucca plants, according to participant Jennifer McCarthy.
This activity was our contribution as part of a national organizing event by Democrats all accross the country who were out in their communiteis on Saturday the 28th doing cleanup projects in their respective towns and cities.
"The Grant County Democrats chose to work in Soap Lake as a supportive gesture to a community that has shown that great things can be accomplished when the residents organize and donate their time to improve-and in the case of Soap Lake-rennovate their town," said Grant County Democrat Ellie Webb. "SLIC in Soap Lake is a remarkable group of dedicated citizens who deserve far more support than our few hours of work in their garden on Saturday. It was our pleasure to be there."
There will be another Blue Wave cleanup by the Democrats in early August, according to Webb. They plan to take part in a project within Moses Lake.
