Junior rodeo draws huge interest from far and wide

MOSES LAKE — Over 260 participants from Washington, Oregon and Idaho converged on the Grant County Fairgrounds for the Moses Lake Junior Rodeo, held July 14 and 15.

Participants ranged in age from 3 to 18. Winners took home belt buckles and prize money. Thirty-nine members of the Moses Lake Junior Rodeo Club participated, with a total of 58 buckles handed out. Eight all-around championship buckles will be presented at the club's August awards banquet.

All-around winners from Grant County include Moses Lake's Andre Morales in the Little People Division; Soap Lake's Jodi Horst, Pee Wee Girls; Soap Lake's Austin Herrera, Pee Wee Boys; Warden's Cody Detrolio, Junior Boys; Soap Lake's Jessica Horst, Junior Girls; Soap Lake's Ruby Langley, Intermediate Girls; Moses Lake's Miranda Frank, Senior Girls; and Soap Lake's Josh Canode-McMillan, Senior Boys.
