Additional lake crossing to cost millions

Cost expected to reach nearly $18 million
MOSES LAKE — An additional lake crossing was added to the Moses Lake six-year transportation improvement program Tuesday night by the city council.
The crossing is number three on the list with crack sealing and street recronstruction ahead of it, according to city records.
The crossing may extend across Parker Horn near Broadway Avenue or Paxson Drive, according to city documents.
To conduct a study to determine the cost of the project, will cost the city about $14,000.
In 1980, the crossing was expected to cost $6.4 million.
The finance department adjusted the numbers to estimate how much it might cost now.
According to city records, the crossing could cost $17.9 million to build.
