Edwin Opp

Edwin Opp, 97, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at LakeRidge Special Care Center.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Pastor Eric Frey, officiating. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Edwin was born Nov. 13, 1909, in Eureka, S.D., to the late Christian and Christina (Neuharth) Opp.

He married Tillie Leidle on Nov. 6, 1932, in Eureka where they farmed until moving to Moses Lake in 1952. While in Moses Lake, Edwin worked as a carpenter and later was a part owner of L&O Floor Service. He also retired from U&I Sugar Company.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Don Brown of Inchelium, Wash., and Mavis and John Withers of Rice, Wash.; two siblings, Theodore Opp (age 95) and Esther Sayler (age 92); four grandchildren, Cindy (Howard) Wagner of Bellevue, Wash., Kimerlynn Withers of Omak, Deena (Dan) Spies of Moses Lake, and Jill (David) Kersting of Butte, Mont.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and his brother.
