Chiefs fare well in low-scoring game against Richland

MOSES LAKE — Tough defense kept Moses Lake on top of the Lady Bombers and gave the Chiefs a 33-22 victory Saturday.

Richland's scoring was stifled in the first half as Moses Lake held the Lady Bombers to just 5 points in the first 16 minutes of play.

"Obviously our defense in the first half was great," said Moses Lake head coach Matt Strophy. "All I can really say is that we took care of business. It's better to win ugly than to lose pretty."

McKean continued to lead the offensive charge for the Chiefs, drawing a foul and going 1-for-2 from the line. Carly Noyes picked up her first points of the night with a putback of McKean's missed free throw to give Moses Lake a 5-2 lead and added 3 more with a converted and-1 to end the first quarter.
