Chiefs dominate Cadets

YAKIMA — Moses Lake gave up just two bouts against Eisenhower Tuesday.

Seven of the Chiefs' nine wrestled bouts ended in pins for Moses Lake.

"There's not much to say with four forfeits," said Moses Lake head coach Jamie Wise. "We didn't look that good."

At 112, Tyler Vela of Moses Lake kicked off the pinning spree, sticking Shase Vela of Ike in 36 seconds.

Gabe Guzman of Moses Lake pinned Daniel Ortega of Ike in 3:56 in the 119-pound matchup.

Matt Palmer of Moses Lake earned a pin against Michael Stilner of Ike in 1:25 in the 125-pound bout.

At 140 pounds, Cody Hoiness of Moses Lake pinned Mario Mata of Ike in 1:03.

Blaine Zucker of Moses Lake earned a pin of Zak Taylor of Ike in 2:38 at 150 pounds.

Brett Frederickson of Moses Lake, wrestling at 215, pinned Ben Melendez of Ike in 2:23.

At 285 pounds, Tad Harman of Moses Lake stuck Jeff Cozzetto of Ike in 1:43.

John Fackrell earned Moses Lake's only non-pin victory with a 10-9 decision over Benji Martin of Ike.

Ricky Sanchez of Ike earned a forfeit in the 103-pound weight class for six points and at 130 pounds, Edwin Arteaga of Ike won an 11-6 decision over Tom Pfeiffer.

Jordan Hill (135), Cameron Chlarson (145), Colton Messer (162) and Justin West (171) won their respective matches by forfeit.

The Chiefs host Davis at 7 p.m. at Moses Lake High School Thursday.

"That match should be a lot better than this one," said Wise. "Davis has some tough kids."
