Arrest made for Cascade Valley murder
Bail set at $1 million
WARDEN — A 25-year-old Warden man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murdering Frankie Corral Jr. III in Cascade Valley on Jan. 2, the Grant County Sheriff's Office reported today.
Christian A. Gonzales-Ramirez was booked into Grant County Jail on first-degree murder.
Corral, 25, of Othello, was found dead, face down in a dirt driveway, outside a duplex at 8060 Road 4.2 Northeast in Cascade Valley, just outside Moses Lake. The Grant County Coroner determined Corral died of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
A 20-year-old man was also found shot outside the duplex. The sheriff's office has not released the man's name. He was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Institute in Spokane. His condition is "tentative," according to the sheriff's office.
This week, the sheriff's office circulated a photograph and information on Gonzales-Ramirez to other law enforcement agencies. A warrant for his arrest was obtained and a $1 million bail was attached. A Washington State Patrol trooper recognized Gonzales-Ramirez from the descriptions provided by the sheriff's office and contacted investigators, Chief Deputy John Turley said.
The trooper found a vehicle known to be driven by Gonzales-Ramirez at a residence in Warden. aThe trooper established surveillance on the residence and vehicle until back up could arrive, Turley said.
Gonzales-Ramirez eventually left the Warden residence in a vehicle. A felony stop was performed by sheriff's deputies in the area of 13th Avenue and County Road in Warden. Gonzales-Ramirez was arrested without incident, Turley said.
