MOSES LAKE — One man is dead and a second is being transported to a hospital in Spokane with a bullet wound to the head, following a shooting in Cascade Valley early today, authorities said.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office is investigating the homicide, said Chief Criminal Deputy John Turley.

An emergency call was made from a duplex, in the 8000 block of Road 4.2 N.E., about 5 a.m., Turley said.

Authorities arrived to find one man dead, his body face down in the side yard of the residence.

A second man, a bullet still lodged in his brain, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

The Grant County Coroner is on the scene, Turley said. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending further investigation. The injured man also has not been identified.

Sheriff's office detectives were still trying to piece together what happened this morning. What weapons were involved, the number of shots fired and what led to the shooting has not been determined, Turley said. Two people, a man and a woman, are being interviewed by detectives, the deputy said.
