Annabell Weisel vanSlyke Yager

Annabell Weisel vanSlyke Yager, 70, passed away Feb. 8 in Ephrata after an extended illness. Born Oct. 13, 1936 in Okanogan, Wash., she attended school in Orondo, East Wenatchee and Wenatchee, graduating in 1954. She married Donald Ray Yager in Oklahoma in 1958. Working as a bookkeeper and secretary, she retired from Independent Newspapers in Apache Junction, Ariz. She and her husband owned a heating and air conditioning company in Wenatchee. They traveled extensively for a number of years, creating hand crafted leatherwork items which were shown at arts and craft shows over the western United States. Residing in Arizona for 20 years, they owned Day's leathers and Such, specializing in saddles for special needs. The last few years, Ann worked with the Cancer Survivors groups in Ephrata and Moses Lake.

Ann is survived by daughters Debra (Robert) Piper, Cynthia (Kelly) Gifford, Deborah (Steve) Yantis and sons Daniel (Tessa), James (Randi), and Terry Yager with 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, brothers Roy (Carla) and Larry (Lois) vanSlyke and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation was handled by Benson Family Funeral Services in Moses Lake. No memorial service will be held. Contributions can be made to the Moses Lake Cancer Foundation.
