Second day rally moves Moses Lake past Battle Ground

LYNNWOOD — Moses Lake, with a two-day pin count of 7,080 finished fourth at the WIAA 4A State Bowling Championship over the weekend.

The Lady Chiefs finished behind champion Wilson, which posted a score of 7,408 to top second-place Cascade and third-place South Kitsap.

Moses Lake, which trailed Battle Ground by 77 pins entering Saturday's Baker format competition, outshot the Tigers by 200 pins to climb from fifth to fourth place.

In the 14 Baker games, Moses Lake posted a 2,359 pin count, resulting in a solid 168.5 average.

Individually, Sandra Smith rolled a six-game total of 1,073 to finish in seventh place. Virginia Valdez posted a 1,003 to earn a 17th-place finish and Susan Krcma was 29th with a 920.

Michelle Reynolds bowled a 735 in five games to finish 45th, Amber Reynolds had a 564 in four games to finish 50th and Cecilee Foster scored a 426 in three games to earn 56th.
