Stratford Road congestion almost over

| February 1, 2007 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Be careful when driving on North Stratford Road at the Valley Road intersection, a ticket might come in the mail.

The traffic congestion at the intersection is due to a crew installing photo traffic enforcement, City Engineer Richard A. Law said.

This week the crew was installing cameras and sensors to catch people who run red lights at the intersection, he said.

There will be no more traffic congestion due to the road-work this week but there is one more day worth of work left to do.

The final day will be done next week when the weather is warmer, he said. To install the sensors in the road it needs to be a certain temperature. The exact date of work is not determined.

The next area to have photo enforcement installed is at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Alder Street, he said. That project is not scheduled and is several weeks out from beginning.
