Gordon Alexander McKnight

Gordon Alexander McKnight, 82, Warden resident, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at Avalon Care Center in Othello. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the Warden Community Church with Rev. John Wallace officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. Viewing will take place at the Warden Community Church on Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Gordon was born Oct. 15, 1925, to Claude and Irene Briggs McKnight in Bremerton, Wash. He was drafted into the United States Army Air Force in March of 1944 and was honorably discharged in November of 1945. He married Sharon Bradshaw in October of 1964.

In his life Gordon did many things. In Belfair, Wash., he owned and operated a logging business and service station. He later went back to school and became a television technician and started his own TV and appliance sales and service business. After 21 years in that business, he retired in 1976. In 1984 he and Sharon purchased a farm in Warden and have resided there since.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Warden; six children, Sean (Sandy) McKnight of Moses Lake, Timothy (Darcy) McKnight of Gig Harbor, Barbara (Zack) Owens of Brinnon, Wash., Donald Tuttle, Carl (Tina) Tuttle of Moses Lake, and Irene (Kevan) Bowen of Moses Lake; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald McKnight.
