Coulee City school broken into
Nothing stolen, Internet used
COULEE CITY - Five students somehow broke into a former middle school in Coulee City Monday night, but apparently didn't damage or steal anything.
It was later found the students surfed the Internet, said Almira/Coulee Hartline Principal Jim Evans. Three high school students confessed to the break-in and it also appears two more students from other schools were involved, he said.
The school investigation is ongoing. Evans said high school students involved will be suspended.
Evans said he's heard conflicting reports about how the students got into the building between 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors were not broken, he said.
The former middle school is being used as a transportation office and a community gym, Evans said.
There have been ongoing problems at the school with people getting into the building, he said.
Dispatch will hand the case over to Coulee City Police because the school is in city limits, said Grant County Chief Deputy John Turley.
