Eldred H. Sieverkropp

Eldred H. Sieverkropp, age 81, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in Moses Lake. He was born March 25, 1926, to Herman and Millie (Arlt) Sieverkropp in Puyallup, Wash. The oldest of six siblings, he spent his youth working on a berry farm in Puyallup. The family moved to a farm outside Odessa in the early 1940s. He graduated from Odessa High School and spent two years at a trade school in Spokane.

Eldred married Elena Beckman in Ritzville on May 29, 1955. After farming for a good many years, he worked at Pronto Pacific (Carnation Company) in Moses Lake as an electrician. He retired in 1988 to enjoy his garden and fruit trees on the farm. He could strike up a conversation with anybody and enjoyed visits with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Elena Sieverkropp of Ritzville; two sons, John Sieverkropp and Dan Sieverkropp, both of Moses Lake; three daughters Cheryl Sieverkropp of Ritzville, Karen (Scott) Okerlund of Moses Lake and Deanna (Mark) Hoefner of Entiat, Wash.; four brothers, Raymond (Doris) Sieverkropp and Robert (Shirley) Sieverkropp all of Ephrata, Donald (Dolores) Siverkropp of Odessa, and Wayne (Dorothy) Sieverkropp of Veradale, Wash.; a sister Ruth Kendall of Melber, Ky.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Ritzville with Pastor Robert Kenyon, officiating. Vault Internment will follow at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home, Ritzville, is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Ritzville. Mr. Sieverkropp will lie in state at the Danekas Funeral Home on Thursday, from noon to 5 p.m.
