OTHELLO - The Othello Festival of Lights parade, lighting ceremony and carnival begins Saturday at 7 p.m.

The celebration begins with the Festival of Lights parade, Othello Hispanic Chamber of Commerce representative Pauline Garza said. The parade is on Main Street and begins on 13th Avenue spanning to Third Avenue.

The parade is comprised of several Othello citizens, businesses, churches and a drill team performance, she said. The parade concludes with a lighting ceremony at Pioneer Park at approximately 7:30 p.m.

A community carnival is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hiawatha Elementary school gymnasium, Garza said.

There is no admission fee to the carnival, she said. The chamber will be selling raffle tickets for $1. Some of the raffle prizes include gift certificates and toys. People can get a free raffle ticket by bringing a canned food item to support the chamber's holiday food drive.
