Toy drive set for Saturday in Moses Lake

| December 6, 2007 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake-based motorcycle club is asking for cash and toy donations as part of its annual toy drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 15.

Toys can be dropped off both dates at the parking lot of Penhallurick's True Value, 1025 N. Stratford Road, Moses Lake. Also, photos with Santa will be taken at Penhallurick's for a $5 donation to the toy drive.

The toys will be handed out this month at the Moses Lake Food Bank, said Jerry Vertrees, a member of the Unchained Brotherhood motorcycle group.

The price limit is $20 per gift, but people are welcome to spend more, he said.

And cash donations are used to buy items like scarves and video games, he said.

Toys and age-appropriate gifts for boys and girls 18 and under are needed.

The club isn't asking for any specific gifts, he said.

"Kids who are used to getting nothing are pretty happy getting whatever they get," Vertrees said.

Last year, more than 1,200 children were given toys from the drive, he said.
