JoAnn Denise Mahaney

JoAnn Denise Mahaney, 46, a Moses Lake resident, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, in Quincy, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moses Lake, with Pastor David Daugs officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.

JoAnn was born on July 9, 1961, in Deer Park, Wash. JoAnn is survived by her loving husband, David Mahaney of Moses Lake. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Shelon Angel and their three children, of Irrigon, Ore.; her daughter, Renee Angel of Spokane; her mother, Clara Thompson of Spokane; her father, James Beck of Nashville, Tenn.; her sisters, Tina Floberg of Spokane; Stacey and Lance Corbin of West Seattle; and Kathy and Jim Hayes of Wilbur; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved pets. Preceding her in death was her brother, Kerry Meigs of San Jose, Calif.

JoAnn had a love of nature and animals. She loved her home in the country, working outdoors and undertaking home improvement projects with David by her side. JoAnn had an incredible drive and was a woman of determination, proving to herself that she could do whatever she set her mind to. She also loved dancing, letting her hair down, and just enjoying life. She showed her fearless side by riding motorcycles and traveling to Sturgis by herself, as well as New Orleans for Mardi Gras celebrating the Millennium. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as David's large family. JoAnn will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all of her family and friends.

JoAnn was working towards her Industrial Electrician degree at Big Bend Community College, due to return to school in January 2008. Through this educational pursuit, she was actively recruited by Lee Technologies - Microsoft Corporation in Quincy, and started working there full-time in January 2007. She was a proud member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, previously serving as their Vice-President. She previously worked for Inland Tarp & Cover in Moses Lake and Comcast in Spokane.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the American Diabetes Association, in support of her daughter, Renee Angel, who is currently living with diabetes and awaiting transplant at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. Donations could also be made to the Humane Society.
