GRANT COUNTY - The latest company to make an announcement about moving to Grant County speaks to residents next month.

Intuit Inc. Vice President of IT Operations and Engineering Infrastructure Ed Goddin addresses the Grant County Economic Development Council fall partnership luncheon.

"Intuit's the latest company to make an announcement and start construction in Grant County," council Communications and Research Manager Jon Smith said.

The company is locating in Quincy.

"They broke ground in June," Smith said. "They're just flying over there, they're moving really fast. We'll learn more from Mr. Goddin but I believe they plan on being operational next year."

Smith said Goddin will talk about Intuit's history, including its origins, growth and how it has become one of the biggest players in the financial software market.

The company will be another large employer in Quincy, Smith said.

"Huge data center; it's a big impact on that community and (people should attend) just to find out what it's all about, how they plan on being involved in the community and what we can expect from Intuit down the road."

Smith said the council appreciates Intuit representatives are flying up from San Diego to attend the luncheon.

The luncheon takes place Sept. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Big Bend Community College's ATEC Building. Cost is $12 to attend if prepaid before Sept. 10 and $17 after Sept. 10.

The event is open to the public.
