WARDEN — Annette P. Kalous is running for Warden City Council position five to make a difference.

"I think the community needs to tap its tradition of community pride," she said. "Beautification of our city as a whole should be a priority of everyone."

Kalous said she is qualified for the position because she feels she can contribute through teamwork.

Her lack of political experience will serve as a challenge for her, she said.

"I feel I can bring new insight and a new energy as well as a willingness to learn to the council," Kalous said.

She said citizens should vote for her because she grew up in Warden and cares about the community.

She is interested in attracting new businesses to the area, she said.

"We should all strive for growth, prosperity and diversity for our community," Kalous said.

She wants to improve the city's economy by being fiscally responsible.

Kalous said the council could benefit from her economic views as a single parent.

She said she supports biodiesel production for Warden.
