Ribail works to benefit taxpayers

WILSON CREEK — A longtime Port of Wilson Creek commissioner wants to work for the benefit of all taxpayers in his district.

So says Gary Ribail on why he is running again for Commissioner District No. 2.

Ribail faces Roger Blackman for the position, which is a six-year term, in the November election.

Ribail has been on the district for more than 20 years.

"I'm well-known in the area and I think I know what the people of the port district want and need," he said. "I'll work to benefit each one of the taxpayers in the district."

Ribail said he would improve the district by trying to benefit more of the taxpayers than he says is probably done right now.

"That's what I'm about," he said.

Ribail said he supports growth for the entire port district.

"I would support anything which is good for the port district and for the whole area," he said.

Ribail said he plans to improve the port district's communications with the public through the port's meetings and "through talking with people just in general around the area."

Ribail sees more employment as the area's most critical need.
