Teri Youngers

Teri Youngers of Bonney Lake, Wash., a former Ephrata resident, passed away on March 21, 2007, in Puyallup, Wash., due to complications from diabetes and heart failure. She was 69.

Teri was born in San Antonio, Texas, and lived in many states growing up. She graduated from Torrance High School in Torrance, Calif.

Teri lived each day by the words, "The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time."

She recorded a hit record as a teenager, and loved music all her life, playing in a local band, performing in jazz choirs and jazz bands, and appearing in numerous Big Bend Community College musical theater productions in Moses Lake.

Teri also partnered in two business ventures in Ephrata, The Thread Shed and Aunt Esther's Food Factory.

At the age of 50, Teri completed a college degree and began a new career in hotel and restaurant administration.

At every opportunity, Teri enjoyed life through her family and many friends.

She is survived by her mother, Emily Akers; sisters Cindy White and Melissa Saunders; brother Chris Akers; husband Leo; four children, David, Chris, Robert, and Mary Beth; and nine grandchildren.
