William B. 'Dub' Monday

William B. "Dub" Monday, 77, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in Holy Family Hospital in Spokane. Dub was born January 5, 1930, in Plainview, Texas to William Bryan Sr. and Gladys Pauline (Young) Monday.

Dub worked as a manager at King Screw Machine Shop in California, at Tires West in Warden, in Yakima he and Sue started several businesses and retired after owning and operating an Aire-Master franchise business. He will be remembered for his dedication, hard work, love of fishing and meticulous gardening. He spent many hours manicuring his yard as well as his garden. He was a perfectionist in everything he did, whether it was in his work, play or his church callings.

Dub was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings. He served as bishop, on the High Council, counselor in a bishopric and most recently in the Family History/Genealogy program.

Dub is survived by his dear family; wife Darlene "Sue" Monday of Evans, Wash.; children Derrell (Janna) Monday of Vernon, Texas, Travis (Pam) Monday of San Angelo, Texas, Teressa (Don) Oldfather of Lincoln, Neb., Daroline "Dee" (John) Long of Burbank, Calif. Glenna (Don) Deegan of Simpsonville, S.C., Mary (Kenney) Cole of Warden, Wash., LaVon Monday of Sunland, Calif, Alberta Monday of Moses Lake, Wash. and Albert (Lisa) Monday of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren: Lychelle, Kathy, Emily, Tim, Jared, Ashley, David, J.J., Gennifer, William, Tyson, Calvin, K.C., Cody, Taggart, Candice, Sherri, Jennifer, Autumn, Nicole, West, Crystal, James, John, Katie, Scott and Stacie; 28 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Dub was preceded in death by one son Darrel Monday, his parents, brother Joe Monday and sister Juanita Arsinault.

Viewing will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 27, at Affordable Funeral Options, 215 E. Broadway Ave., Suite A, Moses Lake, and Saturday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the Warden Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1017 S. County Rd., Warden, with funeral services to immediately follow at noon. Burial and concluding services will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Warden.
