EPHRATA — The Ephrata Lady Tigers trailed after the first inning in both of their games against the Grandview Greyhounds Saturday, but turned it on offensively to sweep the doubleheader with 13-5 and 11-3 victories.

Ephrata's Holly Hubbard scattered seven hits over seven innings in the first game, allowing three earned runs while striking out six Greyhound batters.

The Lady Tigers got home runs from Holly Nelson, Kaylyn Bossert and Sarah Thomas, as five Ephrata hitters recorded multi-hit games.

Trailing 1-0 entering the second inning, Ephrata took the lead with four runs in the bottom half of the frame. The Lady Tigers scored four more in the third and another four runs in the fourth to take control.

Bossert finished the game 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs, four runs scored and four stolen bases to go along with her home runs. Thomas went 3 for 4 with the home run, a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored.

In the back end of the doubleheader, Ephrata's Sara Robinson gave up three runs in the first inning of just her second start of the season, but regained her composure to shut down the Greyhounds for the rest of the game. Robinson finished the contest with 10 strikeouts, allowing six hits and no walks to push her record to 2-0 on the year.

Down 3-1 after the first inning, Ephrata took the lead in the second with three runs for a 4-3 margin. The Lady Tigers scored in each of the next four innings as their offense took advantage of seven walks and six Grandview errors.

Hubbard went 2 for 3 in the second game with a double and a triple, scoring three times and stealing two bases. Robinson helped herself from the plate as well, going 1 for 1 with two walks, three stolen bases and two runs scored.

With the wins, Ephrata evened their season record at 7-7 and improved to 7-5 in CWAC play.
