George E. Duncan
George E. Duncan, 61, passed away on April 20, 2007, in Othello. He was bom on April 29, 1945, in Durango, Colo., to Ed and Louise Garcia Duncan. He lived in Durango until age 4. The family moved to Buhl, Idaho, then on to Burley, Idaho, where George graduated from high school in 1963. He joined the Idaho National Guard when he was 17 and remained in the National Guard until 1970. In 1970 George moved to Othello, where his parents had relocated several years earlier. He attended Eastern Washington State College at Cheney and received a Bachelor of Science at Central Washington College at Ellensburg. He also had a pharmacy technician certification. George received his teaching credentials and substituted in many area schools and had various other jobs. He was active for many years in the Nazarene Church youth group. George enjoyed fishing, golf, reading, bowling, playing cards, country western music and watching western movies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. George is survived by his loving wife Karen Larson of 8 years; his three sisters Liz (Tom) Ferguson, Othello; May Duncan, Vacaville, Calif.; and Loretta Torres of the Tri-Cities; and one brother David (Peggy) Duncan, Moses Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lee. Memorial Services will be held at the Othello Nazarene Church in Othello on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name are suggested to the Diabetes Association or the Othello School District.
